Zed Bias Mix and Interview

FACT magazine have an very interesting with oldskool UK Garage and recently Broken Beat and Dubstep producer Zed Bias. An absolute legend in UK Garage circles Mr Bias was responsible for some of the biggest anthems on the scene but after the initial explosion surrounding UKG the scene the music seemed to lose in way and Zed Bias productions seemed to fall of a cliff.

For those that know he moved on to producing broken beat and nu jazz tunes under the Phuturistix and Madslinky names. However he will always be known for his dance floor orientated beats and productions.

Lil Silva UK Funky Mix - Free Dwonload

Trawling through the net we came across this wicked mix from leading UK Funky producer Lil Silva. Although a lot of the media frenzy surrounding the genre has dispersed recently, largely due to the new sounds coming out of London, the scene is still going strong and producers like Lil Silva are showing why it made such an impact in the first place.

DJ Deekline & MC Kie Don't Smoke Mega Mix

Just come across this Breakbeat, UK Garage megamix from legendary breaks and UK Garage DJ and producer Deekline. The mix also features vocals from UK Garage legend MC Kie.

DJ Deekline was responsible for the massive anthem "I Don't Smoke" also known as the reefa tune. This was a massive anthem on the UK Garage scene and it has recently been remixed by Deekline and others to bring it right up to date.

MC Kie is a legendary UK Garage MC who has been with the scene from the very start in 1996 - 1997. He has featured on many legendary sets and has also released records in his own right including anthems "Fly bi" and "Flow".

This mix is a firing selection of upfront breakbeat including the nex mixes of "I Don't Smoke" and also features some oldskool UK Garage favourites and even some Drum & Bass!

New MJ Cole @ Red Bull Music Academy 2010 Mix!

Its been a while since our last post mainly due to the fact that we have been so busy fulfilling orders from our discogs shop! However we thought that it was about time that we posted up links to new mixes that we have tracked down and are really feeling at the moment.

There seems to be so much good new music out at the moment with lots of producers giving away tracks and mixes for free in order to promote their music. It also seems that the old barriers between generes are truly being erroded with dj's throwing in a mixture of absolutely everything into their sets.

This MJ Cole mix is an example of the errosion of these barriers. Cole plays a mixture of Dubstep, UK Garage, House and a few bits in between, 10 years ago this just would not have happened. A few weeks ago we heard drum and bass legend Fabio make exactly this point on his Radio 1 show. He said that we had now got to the stage where kids were listening to the likes of Kasabian in the day and then going to drum & bass raves at night, this can only be healthy for the music scene as a whole and listening to varied DJ sets which don't just consist of one genre makes the set far more interesting. That isn't to say however that the oldskool classic drum & bass and UK Garage sets aren't still worth listening to, its just that music always need to evolve and these new varied DJ sets are part of the evolution of modern underground dance music.

We've just listed the mega rare Metalheadz Boxset 1 (Box + 5x12", Ltd, Album) in our discogs shop!
This boxset is absolutely legendary and very sought after, most serious drum & bass heads will have heard about this rare compilation! Released in 1997 in a "filmreel" type tin this was incredibly sought after from the moment it was released. The Boxset was deleted immediately and has since become incredibly sought after!

The copy that we have in stock is in excellent condition and has all 5 vinyl's which are in fantastic condition. The Boxset features tracks from some of the biggest drum and bass producers of all time including Ed Rush, Dillinja, Optical, Doc Scott, Digital, Photek, Lemon D, J Majik and Hidden Agenda

Todd Edwards Treehouse Mix

Another day another Todd Edwards Mix! This time around we have tracked down Todd's "Treehouse" mix. This mix was made by Todd in November of 2009 for the monthly Treehouse party, which takes place at Littlefield in Brooklyn, NY. It features classic Todd Edwards tracks, new productions and other tasty musical biscuits found in Todd's garage.

We've tracked down a wicked new El-B dubstep mix for all of our readers! Its a new year and its looks like El-B will be stepping up his dubstep productions for the new decade including teaming up with long time production partner J Da Flex and also a mouth watering collaboration with the mighty Burial.

El-B was one half of legendary UK Garage production outfit Groove Chronicles and then went on to produce some classic dubstep anthems! The mix was arranged by leading UK Garage Forum Slick N Fresh as part of its newly launched monthly mix series.
